Developing a toenail-care routine can go a long way in keeping them clean and healthy. Here are 5 tips on how to care for your toenails.
Tip 1: Keeping them clean
It’s probably the most underrated of all, but it is also the most important. You have to keep your feet (including your toenails) clean. And, if you’re too lazy to do it by yourself, go to a beauty salon near you and invest in a pedicure service. Make sure you pick one which includes a good moisturizer and foot shampoo.
Tip 2: Be kind to your toes
We get it: you want to wear shoes that make you stand out from the crowd. But, trust us you’ll be doing your feet a favour if you pick comfortable shoes for a change. Too tight or poorly fitted shoes lead to ingrown toenails and infections. You could opt for orthopaedic shoes too.
Tip 3: Be careful while cutting your toenails
To get healthy looking feet and also to avoid the risk of fungal infections, you have to keep your toenails trimmed and short. If cutting your toenails by yourself seem too difficult or painful, you can always consider going to a professional salon, like O2 Spa Salon, to get them trimmed.
Tip 4: Avoid toenail fungus:
If you practise the above mentioned rules regularly, keeping toenail fungus at bay shouldn’t be a problem. All you have to do is maintain proper foot hygiene and prevent your feet from getting moist. If the problem still persists, consider going to a doctor to get it checked.
Tip 5: Your feet are what you eat
If you eat a balanced diet that is rich in vitamins and minerals, you’ll have healthy looking feet. Period. Vitamin supplements are also a great option.
